The Complete Book of Bible Answers: Answering the Tough Questions by Ron Rhodes

Reviewed by Tim Chaffey

This book is the culmination of Ron Rhodes' years of experience on the Bible Answer Man radio call in show.  Ron noticed over the years that the same questions kept coming up so he decided to write this book.  He stated, "My goal in this book is simply to answer common questions people are asking [about the Christian faith]."

The Complete Book of Bible Answers should be considered an introductory apologetics work.  It's style and format are very similar to Dave Hunt's In Defense of the Faith and Henry Morris' The Bible Has the Answer.  Rhodes' book is a little more extensive than Hunt's and perhaps a little more scholarly - at least in the topics that are covered.  The reader should not expect a comprehensive treatment on any particular topic or doctrine.  At the same time, Rhodes' answers are clear and concise and usually "spot on."

Part One deals with the Bible and includes sections on the inspiration, reliability, and canon of Scripture.  Part Two deals with common questions from the Old and New Testaments.  Part Three focuses on God and His attributes, including questions on the Trinity.  It also includes a helpful section covering some of the errors relating to the doctrine of God.  Part Four is all about Jesus Christ: His incarnation, deity, resurrection, and Old Testament appearance.  It includes a section on some of the erroneous views some people have about Christ.  The remainder of the book focuses on several major doctrines of Christianity.

This book would be an excellent introductory work in apologetics.  It certainly does not cover every question nor does it go into great detail on any one topic.  Nevertheless, it is adequate to answer many of the common questions and from there the reader should be able to figure out what he/she will want to study further.
