Tilt Shift won the ICVM gold crown award in early 2023 after its second season.
If you have followed this blog for a while, then you are probably aware that I am the creator and cohost of an award-winning show called Tilt Shift. The show won the gold crown (first place) for Best Christian Talk Show for the International Christian Visual Media Crown Awards that are held annually during the National Religious Broadcasters convention. You can read more about that award in this blog post from March.
Tilt Shift is not a typical movie review show. That is, Bryan Osborne (my cohost) and I do not simply tell you what we liked and didn’t like about a given movie and then give a recommendation on whether you should watch it. Instead, we analyze the themes, philosophies, and ideas being pushed through films to help viewers learn how to be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 who compared what Paul taught them with their Scripture (i.e., the Old Testament). We encourage believers that they should compare everything they read, watch, and hear with the Bible.
In case you are wondering, we don’t engage in “hate-watching,” a practice where someone watches a show or movie just to ridicule it. We do our best to find and point out biblical and/or positive elements in the movies we review, whenever possible, even if they are found in movies that we really disliked. In addition to our goal of our viewers developing their discernment skills, we also seek to apply apologetics and share the gospel throughout each episode.
And we do all of this in a fun and engaging way. While there is a lot of work that goes into creating each season, it’s hard to think of it as work since we have so much fun doing it, and I think that shows in the final product and in the promos we film. For example, check out this short promo we filmed for the Barbie movie.
Our third season recently began airing on Answers.tv in October 2024. Eight episodes have already dropped, but this year we added a bonus episode as a special Christmas offering, and it will be available on Tuesday, December 10.

What Have We Covered So Far?

On November 9, we did a live show of Tilt Shift during the Creation College Expo.
Through three seasons, we have produced 25 episodes, as well as a handful of Tilt Shift Quick Take episodes. Quick Take episodes are roughly five minutes long and consist of me providing some of my thoughts about a recent movie that I had just finished viewing. These can also be found on YouTube (links below). And last month, we did our first live show of Tilt Shift in front of a large and very energetic college-age crowd. It was an absolute blast covering Despicable Me 4 in that setting.
